"Indeed, "Similar Hesitations" is the stand-out track on Daily Certitude. It rumbles onward into a hazy, sleep-deprived paranoia that concludes in a declaration vowing to get away from a vast wasteland and spend some time reëvaluating life in a media vacuum. ... There is something nostalgic about those guitar flutters though, something that brings me back to a world where Entertainment was Entertainment and I didn't have to think too critically about anything. Flourishing synth lines transport the listener to a relaxing lounge where they can take deep breaths and not have to worry about how most of the narratives that we use to make sense of the world are fed to us by media narratives, maybe?

The bass line is what takes the cake, though. It's either a boxed wine-induced dance party in your friend's apartment or it's breaking your heart. You decide.

Right before the listener reaches the point of absolute despair, the track careens into a rollicking breakdown that will get your smiling head shaking back and forth. "I will wear my shoes on my bed / until the day I die" the vocalist utters again and again in an oh-so disaffected tone. It's a "fuck you" to media narratives in general, though specific enough to trace back to the narrative that tells you to take your shoes off before bed." -- Bound Greaking
